Our values

We aim to promote equality of opportunity of our clients to achieve their potential, by working in a non-discriminatory way, and challenging discrimination when we encounter it in our work. Although we are not always directly responsible for equality of access to our service, as we depend on other services and organisations to refer clients to us, we will strive to reduce potential and actual barriers of access to the service.

Treatment

We believe that everyone has the right to be safe, healthy and achieve their full potential. That everyone deserves respect and to be treated with empathy and care.

Being heard

We believe that all children and young people deserve to be listened to and heard. That we need to listen to and make sense of the context of people’s lives in order to promote wellbeing and resilience.

Whole person

We believe that people’s lives need to be considered in a holistic way taking account of the whole person and the contexts in which they operate. We take into account the broad context in which each of our clients lives and strive to minimise any negative effects of this context on them.

Empowerment

We believe that everyone has the potential to change and that they can be empowered to find solutions. We believe in working collaboratively with others to bring about change, and that early intervention is an effective means of bringing about change.

Expertise

We believe in critically evaluating psychological theory and knowledge in order to apply it in our practice.
